When life brings you down to your knees and you find yourself alone in that humble place, it isn’t merely a time for prayer, but a sacred moment to take action, to dig deep and unearth the treasures buried within.
In the quiet echoes of my past, I lived like a ghost in a parallel reality, dissociated and hyper-focused on healing everyone around me, lost in a haze for many years, until the day I made my first mark on a canvas.
That stroke of creativity awakened me, reviving not just my existence but igniting a profound sense of purpose and meaning within me.
As I mourned the fragments of my past self, the words of my daughter echoed in my mind: “You need to ground yourself and tilt your mind.” This simple sentence transformed my perspective, illuminating the countless versions of myself waiting to be chosen, each one a step closer to my higher self.
As I navigated the intricate map of my mind, I embraced the freedom to simply be, allowing my true self to emerge, where purpose thrived. In that embrace, I discovered the only therapy I ever needed: the courage to honor my truth.
Art became my bridge to authenticity, connecting me with my true self and drawing in my soul tribe, reminding me that within the chaos of existence, beauty awaits those brave enough to explore.
Art transcends the limitations of language. I have a story that will remain untold, but its truth is woven into the layers of my creations.

"My work is a wild and vibrant interpretation of the fascinating interplay between mind and nature through the healing journey leading to spiritual homeostasis."
-Rachida Addou-
Canadian-Algerian Abstract Artist
My passion stems from embracing my true self. My art may not resonate with everyone; it reflects my authentic being. Described as raw, bold, or even “...toxic, but I love it...,” it captures the depths of my emotions, particularly the darkest and most uncomfortable ones. As I transfer these feelings onto my canvas using heavy textures, raw materials, and vibrant colors, I feel a deep sense of relief and wholeness. Immersing myself in nature has profoundly influenced this creative process, providing me with inspiration and a healing sanctuary. It is in the tranquility of the natural world that I discover new avenues for my creativity, allowing me to connect with my deepest truths. Painting becomes a journey to a space where possibilities are endless, freedom knows no limits, and I can simply be, unapologetically.
